AND SO THE EDITING BEGINS;

So fashion week is finally coming to a close in the big apple, and all the editors are now flocking away to the UK for the start of London fashion week, followed by Milan & Paris. I cant wait to see the photos from those shows, since I wont be in attendance. I'll be glued to Style.com for runway reports. I've got a lot of photos to edit from the past week. So it may be an overkill of shows, street style, and final walk through videos! But hey what can I say! Its all in the sake of..

F A S H I O N

First things first..At the beginning of the week I went to the Staerk presentation held at Milk Studios. It was a good start of the week for me. It was a very chic and classy collections! Lots of beautiful silhouettes and the hair and makeup were done to a tee. Here are some photos from the show.

Overview of the models standing

This middle look reminds me of a party dress from the late 20's and really comes to life with the hair and makeup. The draping is incredible and that neckline would drive any fashion freak wild.

Everyone of these looks are wearable. Its nice when designers put more emphasis and thought into their collections and make it simple and chic. I'm tired of 75 look collections with the same idea pushed down the runway 3 times.

Favorite look: far left, that dress is amazing! It fits together like a puzzle piece!

It was such a beautiful collection. My favorite look was the 1st one. It was the asymmetrical dress cut right down the middle, half black and half white. It reminded me of a ying/yang symbol. I loved it so much. I need something like that for this season. I want to create a whole look like this. The use of textures were amazing. I loved the crocodile embossed oversized leather tote. OFFICIALLY DYING.

PETER JENSON:

These were some of my favorite looks I photographed from the show. Thanks to my dear friend Susie G, I got to sit front row. It was a lovely collection and the color palette attracted my eyes immediately.

This maxi dress is uber chic. I think what did it for me was the waist detail. It's a little cinched so you can have a better idea of the model's figure! 

These colors all go to well so perfectly. I'm gonna turn my wardrobe in to a rainbow. I forgot how much I loved color, and was reminded very quickly after seeing this!

I loved this kelly green hoop skirt. It was so pretty and delicate in person!

This was one of my definite favorites from all the looks! I love the black sheer caftan with the bright wedges. The contrast goes together so well.

PAMELA LOVE:

I was so happy to be able to attend the Pamela Love presentation. She has always been one of my favorite and most respected jewelry designers. She has a certain eye for beautiful pieces and her aesthetic really carries through out her entire show. The models were all waifs but so pretty! There was an underlining tribal feel when you entered the gallery! These are the photos I took there:

These rings are seriously amazing. I want them NOW.

She has such a peculiar eye for detail! I love those cuffs and the mix of textures!

I had the courtesy of meeting Pamela Love at the end of the presentation. She is such a sweetheart and really passionate about her role in the jewelry industry and the products she creates. It was so refreshing to meet her! Plus the fact that she's gorgeous! And I loved her style! :)

I'll be posting more photos as I edit them! I've gotta take a quick breather and get ready for my interview with StyleLikeU. They're coming to where i'm staying in the city to take photos of whats in my suitcase and some of the pieces I brought to NYC. I'll be talking about my personal style, and they'll be shooting me in several outfits! I'm super excited for the opportunity and can't wait for the final result! I'll post it once I receive the finished product!

SHOWS, SHOWS, & MORE SHOWS

So I've been in NYC for 5 days, and i've done more running around then I think I'd do in 50 days! It's been such an amazing experience coming to New York for fashion week. Like I previously said, this is the first time i've had the chance to visit for the fashion week here. Usually i'm stuck just trying to make do with what is left of LA fashion week. There is plenty of talent there, but it's nothing like NEW YAAAAWK.

Here are some highlights of the shows i've loved so far at Lincoln Center:

Alexander Wang

A. Wang has always been one of my favorite designers. He has a magical way of always making women seem strong and statuesque, but in a beautiful kind of way.  I wish I had a detail shot of the shoes! They're Timbaland-esque heeled boots. Kind of reminds me of the days of Beyonce circa 2003. I love the ending photo where all of the models walk out together. They look like a fashion mob. I wouldn't screw with a bitchin' crowd like that walking down an alley.

EDUN

The masculinity of the tailored suit on a woman is incredible. It all started with my icon Bianca Jagger way back in the day, and it's not stopping now.

Who doesn't love a dark line for S/S 2011? I'm loving the fact of using black in the spring collections. I've always been a fan of the color black, and it takes over half of my closet. So I was expecting it to be chic in the summer one of these days! 

PREEN

WORDS CANT EXPLAIN PREEN. 

SO BEAUTIFUL.

I was actually supposed to attend the Preen show but ended up sleeping in, due to a long day the evening before between events, shows, and parties. I was trying to do as much as possible while I was here and take as many photos as possible for my blog. I've been trying to cover many of the shows while i've been here. There is so much going on, and i'm so happy to be a part of it. 

MARC JACOBS

The hair and makeup kind of remind me of a French porcelain prostitute in haute couture, but hey..who's judging? None the less, the collection was more then amazing. So beautiful. From the dresses, to the hats, to the accessories, to the pants. He really out did himself this year. I was a little weary of where his collections were going after that crazy Mary Poppins-esque season. But he's back in full throttle and i'm such a fan.

I'll add more to this later, i'm off to cover a few more shows at Milk Studios and do the closing event of the eco friendly fashion week at Metropolitan Pavillion.

VENA CAVA S/S 2011:

I love this whole collection! It's so modern woman chic and is a perfect forecast for a beautiful S/S 2011 season! It's a pretty style that they are going for, but it shows the raw edge from the everyday woman. It flows nicely, and I'd like every piece...please!

WHIT S/S 2011:

I'm loving the color palette along with the wring-tied turbans. And they pulled really nice prints for the dresses. And as for that shoe...well i'll let you answer that!

PACKING FOR NEW YORK FASHION WEEK:

    

      Ain't no sunshine when I'm gone...

           It's been 6 weeks and my Texas summer adventures have finally came to an end. I'm back in Los Angeles, and up at 2:52am on the night before I leave for NYC for all the fashion week festivities. I'm in the middle of a crisis trying to find wardrobe and I'm the type who plans around my outfits for all the different events. Things are finally coming together though! And I probably wont get any sleep, but some jasmine green tea and a granola bar will get me through that horrendous flight back east. I've never been a fan of flying, even though it's the most practical way to travel in this day and age. You can call me old fashioned, but I prefer to be fashionable while on the ground, or at most in a car! hehe!

Anyways...

My amazing friend Jocelyn giving sass. I was so glad she helped me pack. I always appreciate a second opinion!

       So I decided to share a few photos of the mess I created, and what came out of it! After 5 hours, I was completely ready to start my fashion week journey filled with millions of things happening! I packed WAY too much, but I wanted plenty of options and no room for regret. My overall desired/sought after look is a mix of color, with a dash of oversized pieces for that chic draping look, and plenty of great prints that are either vibrant hues or monochromatic shades. Alot of the outfits I put together seem to resemble a futuristic space suit or galaxy inspired ready to wear from 3020, but i've taken my inspiration from Basso & Brooke Fall 2010, which is a great reference and not to mention to die for! I love the silhouettes they design. They are each unique in their own way. And it's all so workable in my closet! 

++ It's a major look i'm feeling going into the upcoming months for fall/winter!

In other news..

I also got back the final lookbook from a shoot I did with a German vintage label based in LA called Weltenbeurger, meaning ("World Citizen" in Deutsche) back in July. I was so happy to be a part of this shoot. It was so fun and I can't wait for future endeavors to come with this new pop up store! We're already in the works of planning to shoot me for the online web shop sometime soon when I return! He rushed it to me right when it was finally completed for viewing, because we have been anticipating the finished product ever since the shoot was over! To be honest, it came out better then I'd expected! Caught me off guard! But I love Christina Von Messling's work. She has a keen eye when it comes to editorial! She is such an inspirational fashion print photographer! Check out her site when you have a chance:

I'm currently on the plane en route to NY and I've decided that I love where technology is going. It's my first time using the Gogo wifi internet traveling at 30,000 feet. I'm online shopping, blog loving, and going over things in my head all while i'm flying. Who settles on sleeping and books for entertainment anymore?

I had one of those crazy airport mornings. I hate those and i'm still recovering jet lag from flying in from Dallas about 36 hours ago! Major rainstorms made my flight unbearable and spooky. Since I brought more then I know what to do with, I look like some random bag lady on that show Hoarders. This is basically the look that i'm wearing for my flight today. It's super minimal. I have this weird obsession with looking my best at the airport. Thats where everyone seems haggered and out of energy all the time... Now i'm ready for my arrival.

Still have 2 and 1/2 hours of flying left! :'(


Oh well, heres a style look alike of me today!

Details: Zara lace up black leather boots, Zara black equestrian pants with suede panels and zipper detail, OAK basic black long tshirt, random vintage jewelry and rings from grandma, circa 1970's Givenchy Monte Carlo sunglasses, UO Rat Pack fedora, Marc Jacobs black leather hobo bag with fox tail, and making it completely over the top with my Members Only purple/black dip dyed faux fur vest. This hautefit was made for jetsetting!
