Downtown Vibes

Location: Lower East Side, NYC
Wearing: Zara cami, Rag & Bone mini skirt, IRO sandals, 3.1 Phillip Lim tote, Barbara Bui belt, Prada sunglasses

Back in the city for the SS16 NYFW collections and I couldn't be happier about it! This was one of my #OOTD's from earlier this week running around to appointments. LES was the perfect backdrop for this one. Home to some of my favorite digs from shops to restaurants, this neighborhood holds a special place in my heart always! Fashion still has to have functionality to some degree in my opinion, especially during the hectic schedules of this particular week.
This is a great, go-to look -which can be easily imitated in a style thats perfect for you! I'll be posting more of my looks from the shows + reviews of some of my favorites I saw this week!

The Revival of Penny Lane

Location: Midtown, Manhatttan
Wearing: All Saints suede + fringe biker, American Apparel shorts, 3.1 Phillip Lim bag, IRO sandals

As our summer days are coming to an end, it's time to prep for another seasonal transition. Our love affair with all those skin baring pieces are outnumbered. Before you know it, leaves will be fluttering, and fall will be calling. I've already started the beginning of my FW2015 shopping...with this beautiful biker jacket from AllSaints! They are the GO-TO for all your perfected leather goods. I can't seem to put it down. I'm screaming bohemian for the new season (again). But every time the 70's make a  comeback, it's BIGGER AND BETTER. From higher waists, to wider legs, dramatic layering,  and suede + fringe everything on the streets...NYC is about to taken over by the groovy vibes of the modern Penny Lane.

Stripes on Stripes

Where: Magnificent Mile, Chicago
Wearing: Zara body-con, IRO sandals, H&M jewelry, Acne Studios bag, Celine sunglasses

Another day, another look in this beautiful city. I've really began to embody my inner-Carrie as I get older. My style has simplified as the years go on, and i've fallen hard for accessories. These IRO sandals have been a major staple in my wardrobe ALL summer (along with my Acne bag) and I couldn't imagine my easy-to-go looks without them!! I'm a huge fan of the French based label and can't wait to see whats in store for Fall.

Like Mother, Like Child

Where: Magnificent Mile, Chicago
What: 3.1 Phillip Lim Soleil large tote & mini flap bag

Mr Lim has always been a cult favorite in my closet for modern twist on beautiful, ready to wear classics! I fell in love with the Soleil at first sight. The chain strap gives it the perfect feminine touch to an otherwise gender neutral accessory...So when I found the pinstripe baby recently at Barney's, I couldn't say no! This may be the beginning of a small Soleil fortune brewing in my collection

Beach Buns

Location: South Beach, Miami
Wearing: UNIF crochet top, RVCA bottoms, Ray Ban sunglasses

Itty bitty bikini season is almost over, so I couldn't go without posting at least once with one of my favorite mix-n-match combos from this summer! The days of uniformed sets are in the past. Everyone loves to play with textures and make it their own! With the 70's on the runway (again), I figured i'd incorporate this powder blue crop with my palm-tree printed cheekies! Who says beach days can't be fun?

Surrounded by bliss in one of my favorite places on Earth...This is where I come to reflect and manifest when I need a little guidance in life. I'm so thankful for the world around me. I've been traveling a lot this summer..I feel so blessed to be able to experience a nomadic physical and emotional state of mind for awhile. Up next is DC, Chicago, and SF, and back to NYC for the SS16 Women's collections. Time flies when you're having fun!

Slides by the Sea

(Zara slides, Topshop tank + choker)

Spent the most amazing day with a close friend in the Muir Woods before I left SF to go back to NYC last week. As much as I love globetrotting constantly from city to city as often as possible, it is SO important for me to stay grounded spiritually, physically, and emotionally. So by taking time to self reflect immersed in nature, I'm able to cleanse my aura of the past, and bring positive energy and vibes into the future. Life is a beautiful concept with daily experiences to expand the mind & body infinitely. This is THAT place for me. Hiked to the top of the Marin Headlands to capture the serenity up close..Where the ocean meets the horizon..There is nothing in the world like NorCal!

Utilitarian Style

Location: Painted Ladies in San Francisco, CA
Wearing: Zara waistcoat, Free People halter bra, Vera Wang clogs, Michael Kors clutch

Recapping some of my favorite looks from my home away from home in SF. Anyone who is a native knows it's not the easiest to look fabulous without caution here! With it being foggy and chilly in the morning, sunny by daybreak, and breaking breezy by sunset..I tend to switch it up a bit. I'm really into easy dressing lately. I love this little pistachio-ish number from Zara! The subtle earth tones are a hit for me this season for a hint of color in my black hole of a wardrobe. Lets not argue, BLACK IS CLASSIC on any level and it will never go out of style..But i'm slowly easing into other options. Back to the dress, it can be worn alone all tied up for the DRAMA, or just layered over for extra details. I get major Sex & the City vibes when I wear it!

Simple & Beautiful.

Casual Luxury

Location: Riverwalk, Chicago
Wearing: AA tube top, H&M mesh skirt, Zara cardigan, Stuart Weitzman boots, Michael Kors clutch

This was another one of my favorite looks from the Windy City. It's so nice to finally be able to get dressed without disastrous weather worries! I love the casual mix of spring & winter items here!(since this trip was right in between the ending of one season and the beginning of another)! Perfect for an evening on the town with my girls! The detailing on this mesh overlay skirt is amazing, and such a steal for H&M. I'm very selective when it comes to trendy items with major "fast fashion" retailers, but this was a gem! It's so versatile and i've already transitioned it into my night looks for the warmer months to come.

Casual meets luxury, i'm so into it!

Looking back at this trips reminds me of something..
I can't wait to do some major traveling this summer!
(AND DOCUMENT ALL OF IT, ONE FASHION AT A TIME!)

OIC x 2

Where: Wicker Park, Chicago
Wearing: OBEY sweater, Theory slipdress, Stuart Weitzman Hijack boots, Michael Kors Selma clutch, Brixton newsboy cap

Finally getting to post a few looks from my recent trip to Chicago after Coachella. First and foremost, I love that city. It's a cleaner, safer, kinder NY. From the food, to the shopping, to the sights. It's definitely a place I could call home if it wasn't for those sub zero winters. Anyways, I was feeling a city vibe type of way and went very Taxi Driver-esque for a day out with friends. These boots are a must-have in anyone's closet! They are so easy to incorporate into your daily wardrobe. Dressing them up or down is awesome. I love a balance of both. I love the color combo, the boots bring out the subtle floral prints in the sweater and it was such a coincidence how perfectly they meshed..Didn't noticed till I was rushing out the door and hated my first option. I love when those little touches of magic happen.

Match made in heaven!

Cherry Blossom

Location: Prospect Park Botanical Garden, Brooklyn
Wearing: Zara coat/sandals, FRAME denim, Celine sunglasses, Alexander Wang bag

Really digging blush tones this season. Picked up this lovely dusty rose linen pea coat at Zara
a few months back during a sale and it hasn't really lived up to it's glory till now. Paired with a perfect pair of flares and a subtle spring sandal. My absolute favorite combination for a day of leisure in the city. PS: Expect a lot of photos with flower in upcoming posts! I can't contain myself when the city comes alive again!

Losing the Layers

Location: Meatpacking District, NY
Wearing: Alexander Wang bra/Marion bag, Topshop suit set, Theory Ashling trench, Zara pumps, H&M jewelry, NARS face/lips

It's finally that time of year...the sun is shining, the trees are in bloom, and the city has finally come alive again. We're shedding our layers and pulling out our latest Spring staples. And just when I thought i'd had enough of my coats and drab, I salvaged the last possible day over the week for a transitional look. Many think you have to separate your clothes by season, but there are many items you can play with any time of the year to make your wardrobe long lasting & multifunctional. (I smell a closet cleanse in the making!)

Start by dividing the obvious wardrobe differences, then make a middle pile of in-betweens. Follow by separating the middle pile into halves of S/S dominant items to F/W. Then reorganize nicely into your closet where you can put your own spin of cleansing rather it be by color or order! Sounds tedious, but it does wonders for your space!

On to my look, I love this snake-embossed suit set from Topshop! It goes with everything and I can't wait to play with it this season! Paired like the NY'er that I am with all my black accessories & silver jewelry..Top it off with a bold red lip and we're ready to take on the world!

Body Con

Location: Clinton Hill, Brooklyn
Wearing: Zara sweater/skirt, Michael Kors pumps/clutch, Topshop jewelry

Nothing does your wardrobe better then to have a few form fitting looks in your closet to give those killer curves and over-all shape. From cropped suits to shape shifting dresses all over the women's runways for 2015, the redefined shape is the official go-to for spring. After years of over accessorizing, I'm finally starting to appreciate the "less is more" approach. I shot this a few weeks back right on the verge of the changing seasons. I love how easily striking this look is. It can be taken from a day at the office, to an evening soiree with a jacket to throw over.

Simple, but chic!

Get Into The Groove

Location: Central Park, New York
Wearing: Brixton hat, UO coat, Michael Kors turtleneck/heels, J Brand denim, Alexander Wang bag

After almost a year hiatus with Crimes of Fashion to focus on my personal life and transition, guess who is back in the game! I'm fresh minded and ready to take on a new year full of amazing opportunities. It's been a barely there February full of snow in the big city. As I prep for NYFW Fall 2015 collections starting tomorrow, I wanted to post a fun, cozy #OOTD from this past weekend. I've been vibing the Penny Lane 70's inspired trends i'm seeing everywhere for the upcoming season. I REALLY dig it.

There will definitely be lots of content to come on a regular basis starting NOW, so stay tuned for everything fashion, food, beauty & travel!
