VERA WANG PREVIEW AT BOSTON BOUTIQUE

I'm not usually one to follows collections consisting of wedding gowns. But everyone knows that Vera Wang is the best in the business. So the opportunity to check out her latest collection at the boutique during some of the Boston Fashion Week events was definitely something worth doing. The boutique is small but quaint and I had a chance to drop by it today after the collection last night. Such a great location! I really love the atmosphere in Boston. It gives me that warm hearted feeling at the end of every night, and i'm sad to say it's my last night in town! But it's back to NYC in the AM and that city holds the key to my soul! Anyways..back to the subject at hand.

So many to choose from! Be ready to drop a few dollars, but it's a once in a lifetime experience.

My fabulous friend Heleena checking out her dream gown!

The draping on these gowns were just incredible, but this was definitely the signature piece of the season. That train is to die for! I know it's for a wedding, but it reminds me of some of the amazing haute couture that is produced every season in Europe! If the dress fits...WEAR IT!

In other news: I was featured today on Click/Clash style blog! Check it out if you have a chance!

And as a final thought, leave it to the words of wisdom from Bride Wars..

“You don’t alter Vera to fit you! You alter yourself to fit Vera.”

NICHOLAS KIRKWOOD FOR RODARTE S/S 2011

I'm currently sitting outside of King's Chapel in Boston admiring the scenery and typing away on my laptop. I can't seem to stop drooling over the new Rodarte shoes for Spring! As everyone knows in recent years, Nicholas Kirkwood has been the designer for the Rodarte runway shoes. He's been one of my favorite shoe designers for years. He really can turn a shoe into a work of art. From the style, the detail, down to even the straps. It all comes together to create a beautiful creature that molds to your feet...creepy how I described it..I know!

WORDS CAN'T EXPRESS HOW I FEEL ABOUT THIS SEASON'S COLLECTION OF SHOES.

The taupe toned heels, the wood work, the beautiful shading of blue on shoe pictured above. It's just amazing! Dare to dream, but one day I will own a million shoes by him. Does anyone see an evolving theme for his shoes from previous seasons till now?

A LOOK AT PAST RODARTE SHOES BY SEASONS:

A/W 2010:

These are one of my favorite pairs of shoes he ever created. I love the dripping candle wax effect! It really adds texture to the shoe and stands it apart from any other pieces out there currently..which is exactly what he is known for achieving..INDIVIDUALITY.

S/S 2010:

His work with metals in this season was great. It really gave the bad ass chic appeal and reminded me of a futuristic fem bot. These shoes define KILLER.

HE'S A GENIUS!

A WEEK IN HAUTEFITS

I'm currently en route to Boston to cover the series of events they are having in the city for fashion week. I like going to these smaller cities to cover shows because it's less of a hassle than all of the glitz and craziness of the general fashion world...not that I don't love running through the streets of New York chasing down Anna Dello Russo in a watermelon head piece or taking a silent gasp when I see Daphne Guinness in person. But it's low key and I love seeing underground talent grow with time. It's pouring down raining and my black suede Cole Haan brogues filled to the brim with water this morning while I was rushing to make my bus to Boston! From what I can tell so far it's an idyllic world out here. I'm currently in the middle between the two cities and don't see anything but trees, trees...and did I mention more trees? I hope it's a little more of a fall prefix when I arrive, because this 85 degree weather when we are nearing October just isn't cutting it for me.

BROOKLYN FLEA MARKET:

I love the BK flea market held every Saturday in Fort Greene. I was told about it by many people and finally have had the chance to check it out the last couple of weekends while i've been here. It's got such great finds! And lots of chic people! It's very casual and easy going but these people stood out from the crowd to me! Loving all these looks!
