For the love of stripes

Caught up with friends over lunch and a little shopping in Union Square over the weekend. The weather was beautiful, and i'm finally beginning to re-adapt myself to single layers. I wanted to FINALLY show my latest shoe indulgence off a bit! ;) I got the Calvin Klein "Isabella" suede ankle boots. They were comfortable enough to endure the city streets all day long, so they're already perfect in my book. Add to that a beautiful shape (feauring a curved heel) + a deep shade of magenta for color, and you've got the key ingredients to my new little ladies! Slowly prepping for all the insanity thats about to occur. With moving out of my apt this week in Brooklyn, and packing for 5 weeks with 4 cities of travel on the agenda..idk how i'm going to fit it into 2 big suitcases.

DECISIONS, DECISIONS!

East 8th St

Giving a little boho chic earlier this week to run some errands and have lunch with a friend in the East Village. It was the perfect day to play with a wide leg pant/high waisted belt number. I think every person should own a "go to" pair of jeans for those days when you dont have time to perfect a look and 2 seconds later you're OUT THE DOOR. I LOVE this metallic, obnoxiously studded Versace belt. Donatella sure does know how to turn gaudy ideas into must have luxury items...GENIUS.

Now about my bottom half- I dont experiment much with denim, but if I do, know that I love them- because there is only room for rotating casual staples in my tiny, almost not worth mentioning New York closet. Cant wait to have an apt for my clothes like ADR. She's doing it right.

Re-Works

(Wearing: Rag & Bone thermal, OAK beanie, Zara loafers, & vintage leather shorts)

I've taken a few weeks off from blogging and life in general to collect myself and figure out my next direction! I'm also re-designing the blog creatively and artistically for a brand new look/feel. I appreciate all the support through this transition, and can't wait for what the future has in store for me!

Stay tuned!

I'd rather be wearing my 501's

Photos by John Waddington
(Wearing: H&M crop top, Levi's DIY'd shorts, Zara boots, Alexander Wang bag, everything else vintage)

These are some photos I shot today for my entry to become a global style correspondent with the ideal All American brand of youth, Levi's. I was asked to best interpret my favorite look including my trusty 501 denim jeans. I decided to incorporate both elements of DIY & Style (the 2 areas they critique) in to my SS13 interpretation. I bleached, studded, bejeweled, ripped, & added black lace appliqué to the pockets to give it an urban, casual feel. Perfect just to throw on with a black tank and an everyday blazer/jacket- mine being my moto, i'm overly obsessed with (psss, it looks good with everything) and a pair of trusty boots.

Hello Spring! It was 80 degrees in NY today! Can't wait for it to be this amazing everyday. After 8 months of East Coast winter, this southern belle could use a little SUN.

Next Level

I'm feeling a little ass backward with choices. As I get older, I tend to take more risks with my fashion choices, instead of being bold and bright within my younger years. I tend to take advantage of my androgynous figure when the weather gets warmer. I'm so in LOVE with this remake of the Prada F/W 13' skirt winged skirt. It's so simple it goes with just about anything, but the overlaying flap gives you that extra umph with every look. Shot these in the studio with one my dear friend, Puja (who i'm sure you've heard about if you check this frequently). Missing LA already. But spring has finally arrived in NYC.

Sneaking off to the Hamptons for the weekend, for an extended R&R
Back to regular posting next week! ;)

High Spirits

(Wearing: Rag & Bone knit, Zara pants, OAK beanie, House of Harlow sunglasses)

I've been whisked away to LA for the week and i'm loving every minute of it. Spent the day in Malibu at Zuma Beach yesterday, the weather was perfect + I had a picnic and my best friend with me. California may be my second home, but it comes first in my heart.

Haven't been posting as much lately because i've been soaking up all the amazingness life has been offering!! But i'm still here and i'll be back in my New York psuedo before the start of the weekend!

Happy April!
