Versace x H&M

(A little behind the scenes footage of the making for the new A/W 11' Versace x H&M)

It was announced yesterday that the next designer duo for mass retailer H&M will be Versace. There will be a presentation for women, men, and home. About 40 women's pieces and 20 for men! I'm so excited to see the first leaks of what's to come. I basically freaked when I heard the news. As I was skimming over the article, I noticed very important details about the future launch. They've promised it to be flamboyant and extravagant to represent Versace for what it really is. Donatella herself commented that she took inspiration for the collection from the Versace Home archives of prints and silhouettes. ( I'm automatically remembering the interview with AJ Mukumal in his apt in NYC with that utterly fabulous Versace chaise lounge. It was seriously amazing...) Those two words describe me perfectly. That's basically me in a nutshell.. This is a match made in heaven. Watch the video and listen to miss V herself! She carries herself exactly as I would expect her to! I'm loving this video!

She mentioned she is trying to keep everything hush hush because she loves surprises! So we will just have to anticipate for the arrival! She closed the Resort 12' menswear show in Milan the other day wearing one of the dresses from the new collab made of leather and gold studs! This is just the first of many i'm sure i'm going to love! I'll definitely be saving the extra pennies from now on to go towards this!

Speaking of the Italian fashion house, one of my must have item's for summer/fall is a pair of the cat eye sunglasses from the new J by January Jones for Versace line coming out this summer. Definitely my staple for the autumn season!

Mark your calendars for November 17! That's exactly a month from my 22nd birthday!

Early gifts anyone!? :)

Secret Paradise

When I'm in LA, I constantly find myself escaping to the never ending coast that stretches for miles. I usually end up stopping around Malibu for some solo time at the beach, hiking, and shopping/lunch at some of my favorite little hideaways. Had to stop for a ritual meal at Neptune's Net. By far, the best food on the PCH. Every time I leave, I long for the day I return to paradise, where is everything is perfect day to day.

The next level

I'm sure you've all seen the new Proenza Schouler Resort 12' collection that surfaced this week. It's cutting edge in style, and unique in image...as is expected from one of my favorite womenswear designers. They always break the folds of expectation with every presentation, and have evolved into a multi faceted sophisticated brand over time. My favorite general idea of this season is when edgy, but luxurious ready to wear designers put out these feminine, sporty collections showing a completely different side to their creative process. It really makes you appreciate different visions of fashion. I don't just love couture. I love grunge, renaissance, romanticism, sport, retro, new wave, etc. The list could go on! I can't put a limit on where my creative juices flow from..

But what we're really focused on is the JEWELRY! A lot of others + myself have always been a fan of the duo's accessory line. I constantly see street style updates from the likes of AJ Mukumal + other fashion circuit posse's covered up in it. It's up there next to Lanvin and Louis Vuitton for high end goods on a smaller level! This season, it was a collaboration with NY based Alex & Lee.

Take a look..

Breathtaking, right?
But can someone please agree with me that Snow White's cute little seven dwarves pop into your head when you see the neck detail on the first piece...

It's like they took all the natural elements of the earth + inspiration from rare species & rock formations...add creativity and hard work...and WA LA..

An eye catching piece of hardware!
Such a great tie in for Resort!

What do you think about the jewelry? You can check out more of the pieces from the company here!

PS: I know I said the last few were gonna be my last post about Resort. But the tides are high this year, and there is a lot of amazing additions this season! Just indulge!

Hawaii Five-O

(Photos courtesy of Vogue & Google)

Ricardo Tisci dropped Givenchy's latest Resort 2012 collection in New York yesterday and the buzz is already filling. Think Hawaii Five-O meets contemporary design perspective. He used digitally altered Hawaiian Hibiscus floral prints and mirrored them horizontally and vertically for a trippy looking print used on many of the pieces this season :) I love all the accessories like bowler bags, visors, and chunky leather sandals. It's vibrant with color and fresh with taste. Just what you need from the Resort collections this time of year. It was brought to you by some of the top girls in the modeling industry at the moment. The familiar beautiful faces of Saskia de Brauw, Joan Smalls, and newest Sudan recruit, Ajak Dehn!

Tisci followed his usual pattern when it came to the progression of his presentation. He always takes emphasis on one major subject and expresses it throughout, with a few simple solid pieces in the middle, and then extremely intricate and blossoming towards the end.

I've been seeing a major botanical/floral/Hawaiian-esque trend the last 2 seasons on the runways. I love this look...It's got a vintage glamour feel to me, but could be for many different types of women. Edgy and fierce, but retro and always classy!

So, what's next for Tisci? What will be his inspiration for Couture, S/S 12', and F/W 12'? I cant wait to see whats in mind for the future..I've been head over heels for him for the past few years, and it's like a fine wine...it gets better with time! There have been rumor mills that he might take head over at Dior! Will this be one of the last legendary shows by Tisci for the French fashion house? Let's hope not. I love his idea for how Givenchy should stand as a luxury brand and global image..

Both hands up for the house of Givenchy!
