The Current Lineup

( L to R: Steve Madden slingbacks, Zara heels, Charles Jourdan fringed pumps)

These are the 3 pairs of heels currently in rotation within my day to night looks! All great for the upcoming fall season and new additions to my closet. Luckily I did a little post summer clothing cleansing last week to make room for new pieces. Most were collected over my random trips across the country the last 3 months! I cant wait to wear these more now that i'm back in the city..It's almost a strict guideline that I push pumps a few times a week (rather to an event or just out for lunch with a friend)- it's good for the soul!

Southern Hospitality

(Wearing: All Saints top, AA skirt, Zara flatform, Ray Ban sunglasses, Beirn clutch, vintage jewelry)

Spent my final weekend in Texas in the hustle and bustle of downtown Dallas. It was incredibly hot, so I couldn't wear much without melting in 2 seconds. But I still managed to look put together regardless of the weather. I love this pleated skirt - makes any outfit super feminine and brings out my flirty side for sure! You'd think being from here, I would have schlepped down every street here..WRONG. So I was pleasantly surprised to get reacquainted with my hometown and explore so many great eateries, bars, and amazing shopping. I was kind of caught off guard- definitely wasn't expecting such a rapid cultural movement since I left here 6 years ago!

Thanks so much for the amazing hospitality and stay, Hyatt Hotels!

**Finally settling back in NYC, and the madness of NYFW is over - so i'm getting back to my normal weekly routine and couldn't be happier!

Family Jewels

(Wearing: 1940's family heirloom jewelry)

Whats better then fashion with a little history? I recently visited my family in Texas and they finally let me get my hands on some of my great aunts amazing jewelry and stage costumes from her early days as the wife of a Country Music Hall of Famer in the 1940's/50's. These pieces have been in the presence of all kinds of legends from Bob Dylan to Johnny Cash & June Carter. I gagged for the next-level opulence of some of the pieces. There is a velvet jumpsuit with mother of pearl encrusted cut outs that i've got my eye on...yes, I said mother of pearl. You will definitely be seeing some of my favorites incorporated in upcoming looks on the blog. It's the official first day of the SS14 collections and I just got back to the city, so i'm scrambling to get it together!

Off to a few presentations and pre-kick off events this evening.

Stay tuned for my personal coverage of my NYFW!

Third Eye

Finally got around to wearing this Kesh x American Apparel dress I picked up a few weeks back in Dallas. Having worked with Kesh on various fashion projects in the past, I was sad I didn't get to make it to one of her opening parties in LA & NY stores for it. Regardless, I was thrilled to see a familiar American brand collaborate with a talented LA based artist on this project! The final result was a modern twisty take on everyday pieces we all should have in our closets for a cohesive wardrobe (ie. crop top, leggings, ^^ body con dress, baseball cap, tank top). As for accessories, stick with any black essential - I went with my favorite Zara flat forms and a choker I picked up on a random St. Marks crawl a couple years back.

Keeping it cute and simple!

Weekend Acquisitions

CURRENT MUST HAVES: American Apparel skirt + Sparkle &Fade turtleneck/bralette + Cooperative phone case + thrifted belt & sunglasses

I never need an excuse to go shopping or revamp my wardrobe, but it definitely helps. So I was taking full advantage of all the "back to school" sales this past week even though i'm no longer a college student (SMH 0.o) These were some of my favorite additions: I invested in the perfect black tennis skirt, which is almost identical to the pleated one in the post below...But I believe in having every necessary closet staple in black- it's timeless! Stocked up on these great cropped turtle necks - I love them so much, I now have them in 3 colors. Also OBSESSED with mesh everything at the moment hence the new Herve Leger-esque bralette. Top it off with a great belt from Dolly Pythons, a thrifted new pair of shades, and a fuzzy blue phone case to rehash my Clueless life moments.
