A behind the scenes look w/ Tim Blanks into the latest collection!

Givenchy F/W 2011 Couture

Never a surprise when I absolutely love Givenchy. Tisci proves to me again why he ranks so high on my list of legendary designers of our time. His use of cutting edge couturier techniques and vivid fantasies coming to life are so inspirational to the future of fashion.  There is so much emotion and ambition invested into every detail. Each creation is one of a kind and leaves an everlasting impression in my memory.

A strange kind of beautiful at Sally Lapointe F/W 11'

It seems like it's an ongoing trend of the color RED carrying on into the F/W 11' season.

Look at this detail! Mindblowing..

Finale walk. Always my favorite part..I still get excited every time!

Close up shot of the final look. It reminded me of an animal in the movie, "Where the wild things are". If only they could wear couture!

SLP backstage right after the show! :)

Up close shot of the shoes..

(Candid image walking into the show!) She had this sick projection screen playing with dim red lights reflecting off the runway which really set an eerie, yet beautiful mood.

One of my most anticipated F/W 11' collections during fashion week was my friend and up and coming designer of the moment, Sally Lapointe. Taking inspiration from images of photographic processing, she turned this open warehouse space in Chelsea into a dark, futuristic fairy tale. I don't even know where to begin...I love it all. She had a simple palette gracefully progressing throughout the show. Neutrals, to reds, to blues, to black. I took note of the stick straight hair and bare faces. She's became a master of recreating the modern women's silhouette and showed her talents with draping again in many aspects of this presentation. It's great to see a designer who actually still uses a base theme and tells a story throughout her pieces. (Lately, I never know where designers are going with their shows as their happening.) As high end and unique as these pieces are, I can still see them being practical for everyday women's wear...but I guess i'll rest that upon the more daring fashion fanatics then your average working gal.

I think the most exhilarating part of my show experience was going backstage to talk one on one with Sally about the pieces and to physically touch and feel the garments as they were placed back on the racks. Don't get me wrong, the clothes look PERFECT on the runway, but they really come alive when they're in your hands, so full of color and rich in texture. Oi vey!

CANDY-FLIPP'D @ Jeremy Scott

The belted back on this piece was my absolute favorite! I love how edgy his models look in his clothes!

The finale walk for Jeremy Scott F/W 11'

I attended the Jeremy Scott F/W 11' collection a couple hours ago at Milk Studios! It was such a fabulous show! I was
running late so I slipped in right before the doors closed...but I made it! Jeremy is always known for his outlandish, poppy
larger then life, jam packed shows..and this season was nothing short of that. From the fuzzy mary jane pumps, to the
sequin superman dresses, to boys in pink fur... It would give a modern day Divine a run for her money! :)

I always try and run backstage after shows to get some extra coverage, but it was a little bit harder this time because of all
the photogs and fashion boppers trying to talk to J. Scott. And the paps had a field day with Kelly Cutrone of People's
Revolution's 9 year old daughter Ava, who was clad in all J. Scott and matching pink pigtails like the models walking the
show! So adorable!

An adorable model in the process of getting ready! :)

I spy Leigh Lezark from MisShapes with Johnny Makeup interviewing for Nylon TV! ;)

This was what the madness was like backstage...literally INSANE

Front row at Vena Cava

Models backstage!

Oh Linda...you're too fabulous!

A look inside the VC paper mag's from the show.

I attended the Vena Cava show at Milk Studios on the opening day of fashion week. I've always been a fan of the duo that makes up the brand, but have never actually got to attend their collection. It was so beautiful in person, just like i'd imagined. They'd taken total inspiration from the 90's and turned a not into HOT. Perfecting all the half assed pieces of the previous decade into soft, flowy garments. Paired with bare makeup and bright, glittery eyes to give a perfect depiction of some Courtney & Kurt love story from the past. I was able to run backstage right after the show and snap a few photos of the VC girls along with a few off-duty models and Linda Fargo, the creative director of Bergdorfs! She's so timeless. I was so happy to catch up with her...and she said I was super stylish! (which is HUGE coming from someone like herself!) All over, it was a great presentation...I cant wait for next season!
