Early November

Yowza! What a week it's been. The weather has been a god send here in NYC. Usually around this time, it's already frigid and i'm in need of warm drinks constantly to keep my body from falling into a state of hypothermia due to my Texas roots! :P But luckily, we've had spring-like weather all week long, so i'm enjoying it before I'm stuck inside for the next 4 months hibernating during the cold winters here. And to add to that, i'm ready to bundle up in chunky knits and long trousers for the rest of the season. I'm pretty much over my summer wardrobe until next year. 

Anyways, I spent the entire day roaming around Brooklyn and ended my afternoon in Central Park. The trees are finally changing colors and shedding leaves, which are forming massive piles of colorful foliage all over the place. I love it. This is definitely my favorite time of year on the east coast. Next up, Thanksgiving. And my birthday next month! Sagittarius' are on the verge of being in full effect!

It's been one hell of a year..

Canal St

I went to the open markets up and down Canal Street the other day and enjoyed wearing my trusty knit out on the town for the first time this year. The weather is cooling down in NY and i'm so excited to start pulling out some of my favorite sweaters for this earl stint of fall weather we're currently having. Usually by October i'm living in cashmere every day, and it's no different this time. Nothing beats a perfect go to piece.

This reminds me...it's time to start coat/trouser shopping...

Dream Wardrobe - Prada Fall/Winter 2011

If you weren't completely envious reviewing this collection during Milan fashion week in March, then you're probably foaming at the mouth after seeing the first detail shots for the Prada F/W 2011 campaign.

It gets better every season. I went crazy over her minimalist baroque spring presentation...full of bananas, monkeys, stripes, and the whole nine yards. Now we're talking extreme color/texture pairings and a copious amount of exotics for fall. It's enough excitement to make a luxurious woman have a MAJOR ready to wear breakdown.

And for anyone who loved the precise color and pattern blocking as much as I did, she took inspiration and revamped the original idea from the iconic YSL dress that shaped fashion modernism..

Many other references came from the silhouettes of the 20's and 60's when women's fashion was emancipated. Miuccia took a deeper look into the cliche "glamorous" pieces a lady could own and redefined their innocence! Time to take a second look into some of those timeless adult elements of the past!

This is seriously my dream wardrobe!

 (I think to myself if I could buy one entire collection..I know Prada would be ON THE TOP of my list.) I absolutely love the direction Mrs. P has taken for each of her brands, Prada and sister label, Miu Miu over the last 3 years! Not only is she designing for the future of fashion, she can make any man or woman look amazing from head to toe.

Overly Anticipating

Tired of trying to beat the heat? 

I'm sure we can all agree. With temperatures soaring into the 100's over the last month while i've been in Texas, I know i'm not the only one who is dreaming of fall! I'm already referencing for the upcoming season and T by A Wang is definitely at the top of my list. 

I love the extreme layering. It makes for a great shape and achieves the look i'm going for. But that's not all i'm obsessing over. It's the picture perfect palette for autumn in New York. The chocolates, neutrals, and blacks are everything! And so easy to mix and match with one another. I can always appreciate a fully cohesive collection where EVERYTHING goes.

I'm flying back to NYC in the A.M. after being gone ALL SUMMER, and must say i'm so excited to get back to see the Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty exhibition, hit the Alexander Wang sample sale this weekend, catch up with good friends, and get back into the swing of things in the good ol' apple!
