Welcoming the newest target to brand identity...the Virgin Mary herself. In recent years, many designers have traveled back to the biblical eras for inspiration, but this one tops it for me!
If only Mary was present in 2010 to actually don a full length veil made by Louis Vuitton.. I personally think it was genius and I love the notes and story behind the statue, but some may think it was taken too far. It's just another example of self expression and creativity in the world of art & fashion.
Anyways,
Italian designer Francesco de Malfetta is the one behind this piece. It's on display in Rome, Italy for a local exhibition. De Molfetta says he created Mary in LV to "denounce a society based on the cult of appearance through the use of a brand that represents the search for ephemeral happiness."
WELL SAID.
What do you think?
